Dinky Stick came about during an epic love story. Mr Wall and I used to use Faceparty back in the day (it’s like Facebook and MySpace but like props OG) before the Gossip Forum was shut down because this wasn’t a website for your mum, unlike #SUSANALBUMPARTY. Fast forward about a decade and some genius set up a Faceparty Facebook group and alas, Gossip was reborn. Hallelujah! Much joy was had and folks celebrated the reconnections.

With our newly kindled friendship, I was bold enough to suggest a REAL LIFE face to face meet! Shock and horror! So in April 2017 it happened and our mid-week meeting in Liverpool turned into cliche love at first sight. Seriously, he grabbed my face in both hands and kissed me before ever saying one word to each other in person. And in that kiss, in Mr W’s arms, I finally felt peace, and calm, and loved, and home! A week later Mr W took me to York for my birthday and buying a house together was already a topic.

I moved to Chesterfield, England, from Musselburgh, Scotland, shortly after meeting four year old LL in person, having already fallen in love with her over video chat. She instantly accepted me lovingly into her family and is the driving forced behind Dinky Stick. Now nine, LL and I are an inseperable step-Mumma and Daughter duo.

The Three Walls moved into Spring Roll in December 2017, and next came Dinky Stick.

Having a hobby for cross-stitch, the discussion of me leaving working at sea as a marine engineer to start a business started as a bit of a joke, and some hopes and dreams. Dinky Stick’s name being born out of humour as to what we would even call our imaginery business. (Because needles are small, dinky, sticks, and sometimes we like to swear, Stinky Dick).

With the support of Guy and Lainey, Dinky Stick has evolved dramatically. They give me the determination to just keep swimming. And make for some awesome business companions along with Dinky Stick’s newest member, Meatball, who joined us in April 2021.

Dinky Stick is constantly working on designs to update the shop and give you lovely folks top notch products. Must get better at taking pictures to show you guys! But seriously, embroidery, heat transfer vinyl, cross stitch, personalised gifts, goods, clothing, custom shizz, mate we do right loads.
